The Typical Mistakes Of Working Out As Indicated By A Personal Trainer Huntington Beach

By Tammy Walker

Huntington Beach is a coastal city in the Orange County of Southern California. Famous for its beautiful beaches and luxurious resorts, it's no wonder why a lot of Huntington Beach residents would like to stay in shape and attain a bikini worthy body.

If you are from Huntington Beach and have been exercising for quite a while, yet you never see any results, then perhaps you're doing something wrong. So here are a few of the typical mistakes that people do when working out, as indicated by a licensed personal trainer Huntington Beach.

You Do A Certain Exercise Over And Over Again

One of the mistakes that some women do is that they tend to spend a longer time cycling on the gym simply because they find the bike equipment very convenient and easy to do. Well, be very careful with this because you might overdo cycling and you could end up with bigger thighs than you can imagine.

You might see tremendous results on the first few weeks, but if you continue doing the same thing over and over again, then you could end up gaining the weight that you have lost. The key to this, according to the personal trainer Huntington Beach, is to do varying exercise moves every day. Your trainer should be able to provide you with a fitness program that comprises of different workout routines.

You Stick Longer To The Bike At The Gym

There is nothing wrong with sticking to one exercise, but you have to make sure that you also do several different exercise moves along with that exercise. If you keep doing the same type of fat burning exercises everyday of your life, there will come a time that your body will get used to it and you will not lose a single amount of weight at all.

Having huge thighs is not that pleasing to the eyes when wearing that sexy two piece bikini on the beach. So unless you are a bike athlete, avoid spending too much time on the bike. The personal trainer Huntington Beach recommends that you do it twice or thrice a week only and definitely not every day.

You Skip The Warm-Up Exercises

You may think that warm-up exercises are just a big waste of time, but think again. These exercises are actually extremely important in your overall fitness routine. Your body needs to warm up in order for the blood flow to increase as well as for your system to wake up. So the moment you begin your workout exercises, your body will have the stamina and the correct amount of energy and oxygen to keep you going.

When warming up, look for low intensity exercises. The personal trainer Huntington Beach has suggested jogging and walking as the two exercises that are perfect for warming up.

So these are some of the most common mistakes that people have a tendency to do when it comes to working out. If you have other concerns related to your workout routine, you should check with a personal trainer Huntington Beach and ask for advice.

Living The Fitness Lifestyle

A number of you have written me about how to approach the days when you are not working out, when you are not following a meal plan and when you are not scheduled to participate in a physical fitness event of some kind. We tend to call these "off days" or "rest days," some people even have an "off-season" and I tend to think these names are pretty appropriate. I think the major idea or concept we who engage in and live the fitness lifestyle must have is that there is never a time when our body is doing nothing. The only time your body will even come close to doing nothing is when you are dead and then it is still doing something; it's called decaying. But on a serious note, we have to get it in our minds that living fit is more than a gym workout or a series of well planned meals, it truly is a lifestyle. Media and marketing do a great job of selling products but they have also given many people an unrealistic idea of what being fit is, what it looks like and how to live fit.

Popular mindsets to avoid

So often I talk to people who engage in body building and physique competitions. These are sports that I personally love and respect. These sports are characterized by a huge number of amazing athletes and they have always had a firm place in my heart as some of my favorite personalities and friends. However, most people (but rarely the athletes) tend to place the wrong label on these people and incorrectly think of these people as the ultimate symbol of the fitness lifestyle. In the majority of cases (there are exceptions) I can tell you that nothing could be further from the truth. I lived that lifestyle for the majority of my life so I know what I'm talking about.

In my experience the majority of these people only engage in fitness lifestyle endeavors around the clock when it's time to get ready for a competition. The rest of the year many of them won't train for weeks at a time, they eat anything they please and engage in binging, literally gorging themselves with food then turn around and initiate extreme dieting practices in order to prepare for their show. In addition to this, most of the people I've known in these sports (including myself at one time) only exercise and eat "clean" at various times throughout the year during the years that they are competing.

Over time, the great fluctuations in body weight, the steroid abuse and constantly changing dietary practices take their toll. Once their lives have moved past the competition phase, most of them tend to become recreational exercisers and end up having the same physical fitness shortcomings that most other people face. While sport is a tremendous way to stay in shape and enjoy our lives we have to ensure that we create lifestyle characteristics that will remain once our days of competition have passed. I struggled with this for years and can tell you that this is a tremendous challenge for the former physique athlete.

Get To Know Yourself It's Going to be a Long Ride

Living fit (for life) is about you becoming aware of your body's fitness shortcomings and designing a lifestyle that will improve them and maintain them at a high level. It's really that simple. It's not a get ripped-up for summer then gain all the weight back in the fall type of lifestyle. Sure there are times when a fit person may decide to take some aspect of fitness and improve it considerably in order to enjoy the benefits of it, but the thing to remember is there is no stopping point.

This is a key concept that is so simple, but so absent from most people's lives. The fitness lifestyle never stops. It doesn't end when you quit playing a sport, it doesn't end when you get married and it doesn't end when you start your own business. There is no stopping point for those who live fit. Sure we all have setbacks, struggles and challenges to overcome; but we overcome them. We know that these setbacks, struggles and challenges will be overcome while living in the fitness lifestyle. In other words we do not modify our lifestyle in order to deal with issues, we deal with issues while maintaining our lifestyle. As simplistic as this sounds, I've found that this is perhaps the hardest aspect of living fit that most people deal with.

Of course there are meals, days and times when we do things that are contrary to our fitness beliefs and lives. But they are the exception, not the rule. These things are allowed into our lives as a break from the norm, as brief events that add to our lives in other ways and are worth the cost.

Some examples may be:
  1. Eating cake with your child on their birthday - there are so many positives that come from this
  2. Having some drinks with an old friend who needs to talk - friends are priceless, this won't hurt you
  3. Enjoying cultural events by partaking in its food and drinks - many things in life can't be replaced
So you get the picture. Living fit is not about sporting six-pack abs year-round (but can include this) until you get married then adopting the beer belly. Living fit is about a lifetime of choices and actions that lead to your physical betterment as your life goes on from phase-to-phase and relationship-to-relationship. The greatest thing I love about the fitness lifestyle is that it is never too late to begin. This is an amazing concept that has changed the lives of millions, myself included, and it can do the same for you if you so choose.

I challenge you to take a long look at many of the lifestyle choices you now make and consider ways to incorporate a healthier fitness mindset into those things in order to create and build a lifestyle that will provide you with a great level of fitness from this moment forward. You can do it! Living fit is a choice and that choice is yours.

Here's to you!

Using The Web In Choosing A Bodybuilding Supplement

There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of nutritional supplements in the market today. And it is not easy to choose among the options as they are all promising great results. But being mindful in the quest for better supplements shouldn't stop at just researching for the product per se. It should be a thorough search for information and testimonials from various people across the globe so you'll get different opinions from different people.

It is true that many nutritional companies have their own claim to fame. But sifting through the genuine from the fake is often tricky. Note the name of the supplement and the manufacturer or brand and search them on the web. Search for the history and possible names connected with the brand - it could be an athlete, a popular celebrity, or an award-winning bodybuilder. Check their claims through their own websites and gauge their opinions. This a good idea if the brand isn't sold offline.

Genuine testimonials shouldn't come from a supplement company's website. It should be from third party site or a blog that's not directly connected with the company. Try searching the web through various search engines and look for reviews from actual bodybuilders, fitness buffs, and people of varied backgrounds.

Fitness and health magazines on the web may give you two types of reviews. The candid review may be blunt, honest, and sometimes brutal. The tailored review could be mind-boggling and may sound biased especially if it was a paid review. The thing to look for is substance in the information which should include clinical studies, researches by educational institutions, or individuals who are also fitness enthusiasts. The vital thing to look for from these sources is proper citation which verifies the claims of the supplement company.

Finding out if a supplement really works doesn't end on just reading various materials or talking to people who have tried and tested it. For someone who's also into fitness, you should give it a try as well and document the possible changes in your physique. For a line of supplements and nutritionals, you should only try what's required based on your fitness regimen. A discussion with your trainer and nutritionist can help you decide on what to take and what to leave out.

Lastly, look for a reputable retailer. It should be a local name and has an offline store that you can visit anytime. This is necessary if you are truly serious in trying various nutritional products for your own consumption and fitness goals.

Gaspari Nutrition is a prominent name in the supplement industry. It is also backed by a prominent name and scientific studies that utilize modern research techniques to ensure effectiveness.

Running Tips - Tips For Morning Running

Running in the morning gives you a great feeling of accomplishment. You have your run already in for the day, you have more energy for the rest of your day, it gets you in a good mood and feeling like you can handle anything that comes your way.

Statistics show that morning runners are more consistent than those who just try to fit their workouts in sometime during the day. Things can happen during the day that can cause you to cut your scheduled run short - or even have to cancel it altogether. So, morning running in a great way to plan to make sure that your run happens.

Here are some tips to make help make morning running easier for you.

Make sure that you are getting enough sleep. Try to get to bed a little earlier. You can't stay up all night watching TV and then plan on getting up early to run. You need to have 7-8 hours of sleep to make sure that you are refreshed to start your day - and your run.

You should lay out your running clothes the night before. The last thing that I do before I go to bed is to check the weather to see what the temperature and weather conditions are going to be during the time I'll be running. Then I get the clothes together that I think I'll need. This saves me time in the morning. I even go so far as to put my clothes in another room so that I don't disturb my husband if I get out before he gets up.

Have a training plan and schedule. If you are training for a certain event - or have a mileage goal, it's much easier to get out for your run. You won't skip a run to sleep in if you know that you have a 10K coming up in a couple of weeks.

Eat something light before you head out. You shouldn't run on an empty stomach, but you really don't have time to eat something big and get it digested before you head out. I usually eat a Power Bar or at least half of one while I'm getting dressed. That way I have something in my stomach.

Morning running is something that I have come to love for a variety of reasons. You may have to work a little at it when you first start doing it - but I'm sure you'll come to appreciate those runs as a wonderful way to get your day started.

As you can see, running in the mornings can keep you on track with your running program. Visit Running Tips for other tips for staying out on the roads.

Fitness - First Thing In The Morning

Before you get up in the morning practice tightening your pelvic and contracting your tummy muscles while you lie in bed. Hold all the muscles tight for three deep breaths and then relax. Do this ten times each morning and you will be toning up your tummy without even having to stand up.

While lying in bed, take three deep breaths to get some oxygen into your lungs then tighten your abdominal muscles and do two sets of 10 gentle crunches before you get out of bed.

As you get up, sit on the edge of the bed and put a pillow between your knees. Stretch your arms up above you while squeezing your thighs together 15 times to tone your legs.

When you are out of the bed, take time to make it properly.

This is activity that will burn a few extra calories.

When you are brushing your teeth, make good use of the time by doing some shallow lunges as you brush.

Exercise On The Go

If you travel to work by tube, walk up the escalators two steps at a time. By taking larger strides you will involve your bottom more in your stair climbing and give your legs and lungs more of a workout. If you do not use the escalators you can try this at home in the evening by climbing your stairs 10 times.
Hold your tummy in and squeeze your bottom, wherever you are.

If you are waiting for a bus or a train, isolate different muscles around your body and contract and relax them in turn.

Make every journey a mini-fitness fix. Pick up your pace walking to the station, to the sandwich shop, or even to the wine bar. You will know you have done it right if you are slightly out of breath and can feel your heart racing by the time you get to your destination. Remember this is not about running, just about saying goodbye to the casual stroll and making the most of being on the move.

If you are in the car, always practice good posture by tightening your tummy muscles and keeping your shoulders relaxed.

If you spend the day in an office, take regular screen breaks and move around, even if you do not need to go anywhere. Extra journeys mean extra calories burnt which all add up over the course of a day.

How Diet And Fitness Work Together

Most of us have been at a place in our lives where we are struggling to regain our physical fitness. The accumulation of a few - or many - pounds over a few years, a sedentary lifestyle spent sitting at a desk, and a chaotic schedule that has not allowed much time for ourselves have all contributed to an unhealthy body. But for those of us looking to right the wrong and get healthy, there can be no greater connection between diet and fitness.

Overall health comes with a strong body that is being fed nutritiously and is physically active. Most of us understand that in order to lose weight and get healthy we must combine diet and fitness through a concentrated and consistent implementation of a healthy food plan and exercise regime. There is no way around this formula; for all the magic diet pills and get healthy quick schemes - it all comes down to this simple combination. And if you ignore the combination then you will ultimately fail at achieving long term health.

To begin a diet and fitness regime you must first know where you are starting. Begin with your food intake and look for ways on a weekly basis to begin eliminating those food groups that are contributing to weight gain and an unhealthy lifestyle. Many people, when embarking on a new diet plan, will eliminate everything right away, and while this may hold up for a few days or even weeks, eventually that person will go right back to their old eating habits. The key word here is "habit" and in order to establish a new habit you must do it slowly. For the first several weeks focus on removing those food groups that are high in saturated fat, or greasy, fried foods. Begin adding more fresh fruits and vegetables and lean proteins into your diet. Following this, begin to eliminate those items containing sugar including products made from white flour. Instead, introduce products that contain whole grain or wheat. Move towards a diet and fitness program that focuses on whole, natural foods and avoids any food that is processed in any way and is therefore likely to contain sugar and preservatives.

A diet and fitness regime must also account for physical activity and this should be moved into gradually as well. Begin by incorporating small amounts of physical activity into your daily life - taking the stairs, taking short walks, stretching in the morning - and build from there. Work towards a consistent and weekly regime that includes cardiovascular exercise - such as walking, running, and aerobics; stretching and core work - such as yoga or Pilates; and weight training - such as the lifting of free weights or the use of machines.

If you proceed gradually and begin to take control of your life through food and exercise, you will soon find that your diet and fitness regime has paid off in weight loss, increased energy, and overall health.

There Is A Benefit That May Be Reached When Fitness Secrets Are Used

By Randal Polk

You can't find them everyday, but advancements are possible, when you learn new fitness secrets. If you spend lots of time reading about fitness, you are learning new things already because of your passion for it. Once you get to a certain point, though, you'll discover you've heard that already. If you want to get better, then new information is what you should be searching for. Wasting your time only happens when you seek for information to help and you don't find anything.

Becoming fit is concerned mainly with two areas. The interior and the exterior of your body both need to be conditioned. There are many healthy lifestyle habits that are needed for inside fitness, and two of them are enough rest and proper diet. You need to allow your body enough time to recover after each exercise. Exercise makes demands on your body that are rigorous, and everyone knows your diet is important for that. There is a diet that everyone should be starting with, which is the baseline diet, no matter what you are doing. Then going beyond that, you may need to do something different depending on your sport. To make the improvement weight lifters want to make will normally take a supplement with something extra.

You always need to assess your progress after you have been working out for a while. You'll be able to tell when you have reached a plateau with your current efforts. Hitting a plateau tells you it is time to increase the severity of your work outs. This should only be a problem for those who are working out, but don't want to be doing it.

The important thing to keep in mind is that your knowledge plus action on what you learn about ageless male has great potential. If you want a little advice, as soon as you are done reading this then do not stop; immediately get to work. Hoping will not get it done, and we know you realize that; but then again so many people do yet that is all they do. As you well know, even though overcoming inaction can be tough at first, once you just get started will make all the difference. It is not hard at all, really, to use this information if you become aware and commit to it. Do continue on with this because the best is yet to come.

It is important to have fitness goals you want to achieve, along with a schedule for your work outs. Without goals or a schedule you will never make the progress you should be making. You're following your schedule and making progress, but you'll still need to push yourself all the time. If you are not reasonable in the way you work out, you may cause an injury which could have been avoided. But as you know, it's necessary to push yourself and this is true especially if you are alone. It is hard when you work out in silence and no one is cheering you on or encouraging you. When you are always alone for your work outs, there won't be anyone there to help you with any of the responsibility. It is normally more challenging to do things alone, and that is the same with working toward fitness.

To achieve your fitness goals, you need to list them down and make a schedule, so your work outs are done properly. This needs to be done, especially if you haven't done either one. You will make progress when you follow your schedule, but there will always come times when you need to push yourself. You don't want to cause injury by going too far, so you must be sensible. Something you have to do, which is even more true when you are alone, is to push yourself. When there aren't any cheers from anybody, then you have to motivate yourself, which can be hard. You will have to come to terms with this additional responsibility and burden. If you are going to work out alone, you need to prepare yourself for it being a bigger challenge than if you had friends with you. If your goal is to become more proficient in physical fitness, learning more, and applying that knowledge, is what you need to do. You will probably find the most success with learning new things by learning from those with experience in this area. A degree in fitness or physical education does not mean expert knowledge. But a person who has ten or fifteen years of experience will know a lot of things others will not

Fitness And Nutrition For Health

In the age which we live there is an unprecedented focus on getting and staying healthy. As more and more research points to the effect of fitness and nutrition on our overall health, the findings become more difficult to ignore. There is no doubt that the food that we eat and the physical activity that we perform significantly impact our weight and our body's overall health and longevity.

When you look at fitness and nutrition and the consequences of ignoring their importance, it is not difficult to see how large a role they play in our health. First and foremost, it is important to understand how powerfully diet can affect us. Natural, whole foods - such as fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and lean proteins - give our bodies the vitamins that it needs to function effectively. We have energy when we eat right. And when we have energy we burn fat. Eating properly allows us to maintain a healthy weight and keep undue stress off of our hearts; it also allows us to keep our blood pressure and cholesterol levels in the healthy range. Most importantly, good nutrition keeps our bodies stocked with antioxidants that fight off a range of illnesses including cancer.

But nutrition does go it alone; fitness and nutrition go hand in hand for achieving good health. When we keep our bodies active through a consistent exercise program, we are adding to our body's ability to metabolize food and keep weight down. Further, good fitness means strong and limber muscles and a strong cardiovascular system. Exercise also lowers blood pressure and reduces stress levels.

Learning how to pair fitness and nutrition for optimum health means a commitment to a particular lifestyle. It is essential that you revamp your diet to eliminate fatty, high-sodium, and processed food and replace it with fresh, natural - and even organic - choices. But remember, fitness and nutrition work best as a team. Implement a consistent regime of physical activity into your daily schedule including cardiovascular work, stretching, weight training, and even yoga or Pilates.

When you truly understand the importance of fitness and nutrition in your life, you will understand how crucial these lifestyle changes are in order to live a long and healthy life.
