Looking Younger Has Never Been Easier

By Devon R. Monache

The brand is so well known that it is synonymous with youthful appearance and better looking skin. This is Botox. The world's leading cosmetic procedure with no equal. Botox Cosmetic has for years retained the title as the most commonly performed "non-surgical" cosmetic procedure in the United States, based on its ease of use and consistently good cosmetic results. Botox is classed as a non-invasive procedure. With no recovery time required, and no freezing, Botox has very few obstacles attached to a procedure.

The Myths Abound

Despite the wealth of available facts out there, there are still some stubborn myths that seem to stick to Botox and those who get the treatment. The popular media often portrays Botox, and those who seek it's treatment, in a poor light. Frozen faces of celebrities or the most extreme examples are often paraded out as examples of Botox as an extreme lifestyle choice. But these are often wrongly associated with Botox. A competent physician with experience in Botox will produce a more natural look suited to the individual patient. Natural expressions should not be affected negatively in any way, as long as an experienced physician is administering the treatment.

Lose those Frown Lines!

The most common cosmetic use for Botox is the treatment of the frown lines between the eyebrows. Patients and physicians target this area for a very good reason; eliminating those frown lines makes you look fresher and more relaxed.

The reason Botox can make your frown lines disappear is that the muscle associated with the wrinkles is injected so that it relaxes. In other words, the movement is reduced and as a result, the frown lines are reduced. The overlying skin can no longer wrinkle up because the frown muscle can no longer contract.

Eliminating frown lines with Botox is one of the most common of the cosmetic treatments. Since Botox was approved by the FDA in 2002, it's been estimated that 11.8 million treatments have been performed to treat frown lines. With over 90% of people who get Botox indicating satisfaction, it's not surprising that Botox continues to grow in popularity, especially with the word spreading through social media.

The treatment process for frown lines is very simple. It involves the physician injecting Botox directly into the muscles that cause those frown lines between the brows. No anesthesia is required because the needle is very tiny, the discomfort is minimal, and the treatment itself usually takes less than 5 minutes to perform.

Botox is incredibly safe. The preparation used by clinics is a medical pharmaceutical which is manufactured under very stringent conditions. Botox was initially a treatment that was only associated with the rich and famous, but nowadays, it is as common for a soccer mom to a construction worker to seek Botox treatments as a way to turn back the clock.
